 Avast Antivirus Pro & Internet Security v5.1.889 [H33T]









INSTALL AT YOUR OWN RISK. The crack in this version is now detected as a virus by some virus scanners, including Avast itself. It is a false positive, but you have to take a few steps to stop Avast from being annoying and trying to delete it, so again, install this at your own risk. Excluding the Avast folder from the scan list is a big security hole. If something happens to your computer, it is neither my fault or Avast's fault. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK





UPDATE: As of Feb 4, 2011, Avast has updated it's defs and ashBase.dll is no longer detected as a trojan by Avast. However, it is still detected as a "suspicious file" by a few other virus scanners, but this is still a false positive.





This crack will let you download updates until the year 2037 as you can see from the screenshots below.





I've installed this on 2 computers so far (both Win7 64bit) and it's working well. Please follow the instructions EXACTLY. I will try to help with any problems, but if you didn't follow the instructions EXACTLY or didn't read the FAQs below, I'll ignore your post.


NOTE: Steps 2 & 3 will stop Avast from scanning the ashBase.dll file and trying to delete it.





Instructions:





NOTE: THESE INSTRUCTIONS HAVE BEEN UPDATED AS OF FEB 4, 2011 BECAUSE AVAST NO LONGER DETECTS THE PATCHED ASHBASE.DLL FILE AS A VIRUS.





1) Run Avast setup. Uncheck "Participate in the avast! community", then Install Avast as TRIAL! Do not reboot after installation.





2) Open Avast and go to Settings > Exclusions and add "C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast5" to the exclusions list.





3) Go to Real-Time Shields > File System Shield > Expert Settings > Exclusions and add "C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast5" to the exclusions list and check R, W, X.





4) Go to Settings > Troubleshooting and uncheck "Enable avast! self-defense module"





5) Go to Real-Time Shields > File System Shield and press the STOP button.





6) Terminate AvastSVC.exe and AvastUI.exe in the Task Manager (launch it with pressing CTRL+SHIFT+Esc - let's it show all users running processes). If you cannot stop the processes, reboot into safe mode and continue to Step 7.





7) Extract the cracked DLL from "ashBase-tonyblair.rar" and replace the file (ashBase.dll) in C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast5 with the cracked file.





8 ) Reboot.





9) Go to Settings > Troubleshooting and CHECK "Enable avast! self-defense module"





10) Go to Real-Time Shields > File System Shield and press the START button.





11) Go to Settings > Updates and under the PROGRAM section, check Manual update.





12) Finally, Enjoy!

FAQs





Q.1 I cannot overwrite the ashBase.dll file.


Q.2 I cannot stop the AvastSVC.exe or AvastUI.exe process.


A. Boot your computer into Safe Mode and overwrite the file. Then boot back into normal mode. Done.





Q. I cannot see AvastSVC.exe or AvastUI.exe in the task manager.


A. Click the "Show processes from all users" button in the task manager.





Q. Something went wrong and I cannot uninstall Avast. What happened?


A. Use the Avast Uninstall Utility to fully uninstall Avast and then reinstall using the instructions above. I've also included the uninstall utility in this torrent.





Q. Why am I getting an "illegal" or "blacklisted" error in Avast?


A. Because you're incapable of following simple English instructions. DO NOT APPLY ANY LICENSE FILES. Follow the instructions above, exactly! There is NO license file in this torrent and you should not apply any license file. If you have a license file installed on a previous version of Avast before installing this version, run the Avast Uninstall Utility.





Q. I'm having problems updating after installing the crack.


A. I've noticed, even with previous versions of Avast, that sometimes after installing and applying the patch, it takes a little while for it to properly update. Sometimes it takes a couple hours, sometimes a couple days, but eventually after the first update, all future updates will update properly and on-time. I would say give it a week, if it still hasn't updated for the first time, try uninstalling and re-installing following the instructions above.
